Wild Coast’s Editor - Shane Murton

Shane MurtonShane is a university qualified journalist, with an undergraduate degree in English and a post graduate journalism degree. This compliments considerable writing and photographic experience pertaining to fishing photojournalism.

Besides editing Wild Coast – Fishing South Australia, he’s an active writer for numerous national fishing magazines and has a considerable portfolio of well over a hundred feature articles published in Saltwater Fishing magazine, Fishing World, Fishing Tips and Techniques, NAFA, Southern Fisheries, Barra, Bass & Bream and a host of other titles. He also co-authored 'Angling on Lower Eyre Peninsula', and produced two popular locally made DVDs on Whyalla snapper and Kangaroo Island.

Shane MurtonShane has always been a keen angler. Up until the age of 17 he lived on Kangaroo Island, before moving to the seaside city of Port Lincoln and then later Ceduna on SA's far west coast and is a knockabout country lad at heart. Still in that hardcore vein of fishing he enjoys everything from late night sharking, livebaiting Kingfish, down to his favourite pastime of wading the flats for flathead armed with soft plastics and a spin stick.

Capturing the essence of fishing in South Australia is his aim with Wild Coast magazine.
